Ukrspecsystems to Build Drone Production Factory in the UK With $250 Million Investment

Ukrainian drone manufacturer Ukrspecsystems is investing £200 million ($250 million) in a new factory in Mildenhall.

The investments are set to be implemented over the next three years. In addition to the factory, which is planned to cover an area of 11,000 square meters, the project includes the construction of a testing and training center in Elmsett.

The publication notes that the Lotus car factory is located in nearby Norfolk, where over 500 workers are facing potential layoffs.

The regional government has high hopes for the opening of the Ukrainian factory, which could potentially not only help address the crisis at Lotus but also create new jobs.

The Ukrainian company aims to expand its operations to other manufacturing sites in the region and offer internships to train the next generation of skilled workers.

Rory Chamberlain, Managing Director-UK of Ukrspecsystems, stated that production at the new factory was expected to begin the following year.

According to him, the combination of Ukrainian technologies with British expertise in the aviation industry will allow the company to become a global leader in the field of unmanned systems, both in the civilian and military sectors.

Member of the British Parliament and responsible for defense procurement, Maria Eagle, noted that the United Kingdom recognized Ukraine as a leading country in the field of drones.

She expressed hope that cooperation with Ukraine would provide access to advanced developments and innovative technologies, strengthening the country’s armed forces.

It is worth mentioning that Ukrspecsystems’ drones are of interest not only to the United Kingdom but also to other countries.

For instance, in April, it was reported that a reconnaissance drone, Shark, had been spotted during tests in the Czech Republic.
