Ukroboronprom, the Joint-Stock Company Ukrainian Defense Industry, has signed an agreement to launch joint production of Roshel armored vehicles.

Ukroboronprom informed about this on its social media.

It is reported that under the agreement, one of the Ukrainian enterprises would receive the necessary technical documentation and component materials for the production of vehicles.

“The Ukrainian defense industry is expanding the geography of partnerships. The armored vehicles of the Canadian company are already being used by the Ukrainian military. Manufacturing this equipment in Ukraine will significantly speed up its delivery to combat units. At the same time, it will strengthen the Ukrainian economy and give Ukrainian producers access to technology. Thus, the Ukrainian defense industry is gradually integrating into the defense industrial base of the free world,” Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin stated.

As previously reported, the company announced plans to localize its armored vehicles in Ukraine in May 2024.

The Roshel CEO stated that there were already several service centers in Ukraine maintaining Roshel armored vehicles used by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In June, the company announced plans to invest tens of millions of dollars in the construction of a plant in Ukraine. At the time, the company’s management clarified that the plant would be focused on both the Ukrainian and European markets.

In September 2024, it became known that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine had received 1400 Senator armored vehicles.

The transfer of these armored vehicles first became known on April 13, 2022, when the Canadian government announced $500 million in aid to Ukraine. The first contract was for only 8 vehicles.

Roshel production expansion

In December, it was reported that Roshel had launched production in the United States.

The plant’s potential is similar to the one currently operating in Canada and includes all production processes for full and independent production of armored vehicles in the United States.

In addition, the company is considering opening a plant in Poland.
