Ukraine has successfully used a drone with a 1,000-kilometer range.
This is confirmed by a Facebook post of Nataliia Sad, a spokeswoman of the Ukroboronprom State Concern.
She published a photo featuring Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, and Yuriy Husiev, Chief Executive Officer at Ukroboronprom.
Sad captioned this photo as follows:
“After the successful use of our drone for 1000 km.”
On October 17, amid Russian air attacks, the Ukroboronprom State Concern announced the development of Ukrainian weapons with a target range of up to a thousand kilometers.
The company announced the following specifications of the new weapon system:
In January, a spokeswoman of the Ukroboronprom State Enterprise reported that a new classified Ukrainian strike drone has successfully passed a number of tests.
“A number of successful tests are behind us. We moved on to tests under the influence of EW effects, and these tests are also over,” Nataliia Sad reported.
The tests were conducted according to the order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Oleh Boldyrev, manager at Ukroboronprom, shared that this aircraft is heavy, with a takeoff weight of over 200 kg.
The new product meets the objectives that Valerii Zaluzhnyi outlined to manufacturers in early August. The drone will have a return function, so it will be able to attack targets several times.
