The Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually pushing the enemy back in the South of Ukraine. The situation remains tense.
Natalia Humeniuk, the Head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, announced this during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
She noted that announcing early successes of the Ukrainian troops might interfere with their consolidation.
“The situation in the southern region remains steadily tense. Our troops advance slowly but surely. Announcements of our successes will be made only after they are finalized. The main achievement at the moment is the destruction of command posts and logistics centers, ammunition and fuel depots… The troops also hit several military equipment targets located along the contact line,” Humeniuk said.
She also spoke about the enemy tactics in this direction. The invaders fly over Ukrainian positions on helicopters, airstrike in the rear directions, and conduct missile attacks. The enemy also uses S-300 systems. Those are equipped with large fragmentation damage shells to strike Ukrainian positions.
Previously, the Operational Command “South” reported about a strike on a concentration of enemy forces in the Kherson Tegion. The Defense Forces of Ukraine deployed a pair of attack aircraft.
“We’ve hit a command and observation post of the Russian artillery brigade and a command and control post of the Russian Guard. The latter was also attacked the day before. So far, the confirmed enemy losses are the following: 38 rockets and 10 units of equipment, including: 4 Msta-B howitzers, a man-portable anti-aircraft missile system, and 5 vehicles. 2 ammunition depots in the Kherson Region were neutralized,” the report said.
Previously, the Ukrainian servicemen demonstrated the losses they inflicted on the Russians in the area of Ivanivka in the Kherson Region.
On July 10, explosions were reported in Kherson. A location that’s likely a Rosgvardiya base caught fire.
