The Ukrainian military destroyed the Russian Osa-AKM SAM on the outskirts of the temporarily occupied Donetsk.

Militarnyi reported on this.

The Russian air defense system was destroyed by FPV drones controlled by operators of the UAV Battalion “Inquisition” of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.

The military posted the video on its Telegram channel on Friday, May 24.

A Ukrainian reconnaissance drone detected the movement of the Osa-AKM SAM within the occupied settlement. An FPV drone was launched to destroy it.

According to the footage, the air defense system was first hit when it stopped on the road.

Presumably, it was his combat position from which the SAM was supposed to cover the Russian invaders on the outskirts of Donetsk. The exact location was found out by OSINT researchers who monitor the course of hostilities in the Russian-Ukrainian war.

After the first hit, the crew decided to flee to the rear, but it is clear that the strike of one or more Ukrainian drones led to the ignition of the rotary platform, which contained anti-aircraft missiles in transport and launch containers, as well as radar.

Presumably due to damage to the vehicle or injuries to the crew, the SAM drove off the road. Firefighters arrived at the scene and tried to extinguish the fire.

It is likely that the damage caused has completely disabled the Russian Osa-AKM air defense system.

The exact date when the Russian SAM system was destroyed has not been reported.

Previously, soldiers of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade destroyed the Russian Osa anti-aircraft missile system using an FPV drone.
