Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a Buk anti-aircraft system in one of the areas of the Ukrainian-Russian front.
The Special Operations Forces Command published the video of the incident.
A high-precision munition was used to destroy the Russian equipment, and it is likely that the Russian system was hit by a US HIMARS rocket system.
“Another successful integrated work of the SOF units and the maintenance of fire equipment as part of the reconnaissance groups gave its results,” the military emphasized.
A 9A310 or a 9A39 launcher of the enemy’s Buk-M1 SAM system was destroyed as a result of a precision strike.
The Russian anti-aircraft system with four anti-aircraft missiles was located in a forestry area.
It was covered with a camouflage net. In this way, the Russian invaders tried to disguise it from Ukrainian reconnaissance drones and protect it from damage.
However, as the video shows, they failed, and the Buk SAM launcher was detected and destroyed with the high-precision weapons.
The footage shows that after the ammunition hit, the anti-aircraft missiles detonated and burned violently. This caused several missiles to fly in different directions.
The powerful fire and detonation of ammunition indicate the destruction of the Russian system.
“The effective combination of the intelligence capabilities of the Special Operations Forces and modern weapons continues to deliver devastating strikes to the enemy,” the Special Operations Forces added.
This is not the first Russian Buk SAM system element that the Ukrainian military damaged since the beginning of the year. In particular, in January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit several Russian Buk anti-aircraft systems in the Donetsk region.
