Ukrainian troops destroyed part of the Russian T-72B3 tanks that were trying to advance near Novoprokopivka.
Soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade were engaged in combat in this area of Zaporizhzhia region.
The Ukrainian military said that they managed to destroy four Russian tanks in just one day.
The invaders’ tanks were moving from Novoprokopivka to the area of the liberated settlement of Robotyne to fire at the Ukrainian military.
FPV drones equipped with PG-7 HEAT-T projectiles were used to defeat them.
Russian tank crews abandoned two T-72B3 tanks after being hit by FPV drones.
Presumably, the projectiles disabled the systems that allowed the tank to move, or the tank might face detonation of ammunition. That’s why the tank crew decided to abandon the tanks.
On October 7, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that the Defense Forces had partial success north of Novoprokopivka.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive in the Melitopol sector. They have partial success north of Kopan and north of Novoprokopivka,” the General Staff said.
It is known that the 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 58th Combined Arms Army of Russia is now increasingly actively counterattacking near Novoprokopivka.
In particular, units of the 70th and 71st Motor Rifle Regiments of the 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division have been increasingly active in limited counterattacks near Novoprokopivka over the past week.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian troops struck at a concentration of Russian equipment in the Tokmak sector.
