Ukrainian Defense Forces hit an ammunition depot of the Russian invasion army in the Luhansk region.
Videos of the massive fire and powerful explosions were posted on social media by eyewitnesses.
A powerful detonation of shells takes place near the occupied town of Sorokyne (formerly Krasnodon) in the Luhansk region. The settlement is located near the border with Russia.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck at an important facility of the Russian invaders with long-range weapons, as the occupied city is located at a distance of about 130 kilometers from the front line.
It is likely that these were missiles, but it is not yet known what type was used. They could have been Storm Shadow/SCALP EG cruise missiles or ATACMS ballistic missiles.
This is not the first strike on the Russian rear in the occupied Luhansk region in recent times.
On the evening of May 10, an oil depot in occupied Rovenky was hit. The attack on the oil depot was allegedly carried out using ATACMS long-range missiles.
At the site of the destruction of the oil depot, the invaders also showed photos in which, probably, the M74 submunitions, which are in the ATACMS warhead.
On the evening of May 7, an oil depot was also on fire in the temporarily occupied Luhansk.
Photos and videos of the fire, likely caused by the impact, were posted on social media.
Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine also struck at a concentration of the enemy personnel near the village of Rohove in the Luhansk region.
The footage captured by the reconnaissance drone shows a large concentration of the Russian military personnel and the strike by three cluster munitions. Visually, the area of damage and the number of striking elements is much larger than that of the GMLRS, so it is likely that the strike was carried out by US-made ATACMS ballistic missiles.
