Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces units received the innovative PK-8 sapper system.

The military has 35 sets of PK-8 sapper systems at a total cost of UAH 1.75 million.

These are new combat equipment of Ukrainian production.

PK-8 system is a unique Ukrainian development, that has already proven itself in battle.

Its main purpose is wireless remote control of minefields and single charges, additionally, its use can be multifunctional.

PK-8 sustains up to eight executable devices linked to a single control panel.

The system can undermine equipment, enemy infantry, or infrastructure.

The range of work in urban development is up to 1 km, in open areas – up to 2-3 km, within the line of sight – up to 4 km.

The range may be extended to 4 km per repeater by using all explosive devices as repeaters.

In addition, the system has many technical features, that expand the spectrum and possibilities of its use. The device has various modifications and capabilities – from working on a timer to detonating only individual charges.

In addition, elements of the system can serve as repeaters for each other, which increases the blast distance and improves operation under electronic warfare systems (EW) countermeasures. The work uses a protected radio protocol, resistant to EW with frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) and 256-bit encryption.

During the development of the PK-8, experts studied various types of remote detonation systems that are produced in Ukraine and abroad. The obstacles were generated by RP-377UVM1 and RP-377UVM1L captured electronic warfare systems, as well as by the domestic MPP-1 and Israeli EJAB systems.
