Ukrainian pyrotechnicians are detecting and neutralizing a large number of explosive objects every day.
Unexploded ammunition or remnants of missiles remaining after Russian shelling and missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine pose a great danger.
A total of 271,447 dangerous items have been neutralized since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, according to the data of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
2,845 kg of explosives were neutralized as well.
Moreover, pyrotechnics have neutralized 2,140 aerial bombs.
In total, specialists have examined and upon necessity demined more than 74 thousand hectares of the territory of Ukraine.
Another danger, in addition to unexploded artillery ammunition and aerial weapons, is specially installed stretchers with grenades, which Russian soldiers have left on the territory of villages and cities during the retreat under the pressure from the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Mortar mines, cluster munitions, as well as grenades and anti-tank mines, left behind by the Russian invaders during their escape, are also a danger.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, it takes up to one month for Ukrainian specialists to demine one de-occupied medium-sized settlement.
Currently, more than 60% of the staff of pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police and rescuers are concentrated in the east and south of the country.
Last month, Ukraine received an Armtac 400 mine clearing vehicle. The equipment is already helping employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to demine liberated areas.
The Armtac 400 mine clearing vehicle has a remote control at a distance of up to 800 meters, which guarantees the safety of the operator. Armtac 400 mine clearing vehicle was purchased with the funds collected through UNITED24.
