In Kosovo, the Ukrainian national contingent achieved the best distinction when using ІМR-2 combat engineering vehicles.

The servicemen of the national contingent of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in joint maneuvers on the collective security of the NATO multinational force KFOR in Kosovo, Republic of Serbia.
Representatives of national contingents of Italy and Moldova also took part in the maneuvers.
Classes as part of a maneuver unit using explosives and means of initiation were carried out on the territory of the Novo Selo military base.
During the exercises, elements of countering hostile groups of protesters, an algorithm for identifying and destroying explosive devices were worked out.
In addition, the elimination of artificial obstacles on the advance routes with the involvement of heavy engineering equipment was worked out. During the exercises, the Ukrainian military used IMR-2 combat engineering vehicles.
The IMR-2 is an armored breaching vehicle developed by the former Soviet Union to support armored formations replacing the IMR vehicles based upon the T-54/T-55 tanks. The IMR-2 engineer vehicle was developed upon the T-72 tank chassis in the 1970s. ІMR-2 was developed taking into account the requirements of the then military doctrine of the USSR for the conduct of offensive nuclear war.
Working equipment of vehicle consists of a universal bulldozer, a telescopic boom with a manipulator-capture, a mine trawl and a demining installation.
According to the results of the exercises, the Ukrainian national contingent were marked as the best national contingent for coherence and professionalism.
The work of the crew of the combat engineering vehicle consisting of junior sergeant Yurii Bezkinskyi and senior soldier Andrii Mitiaiev was especially noted.
It should be noted that the personnel of the Ukrainian national contingent, weapons and military equipment are in constant combat readiness, fully fulfilling the duties of maintaining peace and security in the Balkans.
