Soldiers of the 25th Sicheslav Separate Airborne Brigade have taken control of the village of Kotlyne, located 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk.

The brigade’s press service reported on this and published a video of the incident.

In late January, one of the brigade’s battalions was tasked with recapturing the village from the enemy and gaining a foothold on new frontiers.

Control of this village would give the Russian invaders access to the Pokrovsk-Dnipro highway, which is vital for supporting the Ukrainian Defense Forces in this sector. Therefore, the Russians threw significant forces at its capture at one time.

The Russian infantry was accumulating there with further plans to advance in the Pokrovsk sector.

During the assault, paratroopers from the 25th Sicheslav Separate Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine drove the invaders out of a part of the settlement north of the railroad and took control of the area. During the clearing of the houses of the destroyed village, Russian invaders were found and captured.

Soldiers from related units worked together with the paratroopers of the 25th Sicheslav Separate Airborne Brigade.

Militarnyi previously reported that soldiers of the 425th Skala Separate Assault Regiment cleared the enemy’s trench system near the village of Kotlyne in the Pokrovsk sector.

A few days later, in February, the regiment’s press service reported that soldiers of the 425th Skala Separate Assault Regiment destroyed an enemy assault group in Kotlyne near Pokrovsk while trying to counterattack Ukrainian positions.

Later, a video was published showing soldiers of the 425th Skala Separate Assault Regiment driving the invaders out of a part of the village south of the railroad. The clearing was carried out using military equipment, including tanks and drones, which made it possible to effectively drive the enemy out of buildings and ensure the advance of infantry.

The fighting took place day and night, with military equipment entering the village and shelling enemy positions. Russians were hiding in every house.

After clearing the area, the Ukrainian military fought off an attempt by the invaders to re-enter Kotlyne.
