The Ukrainian Navy reported more than 50 strikes on Russian targets using R-360 Neptune cruise missiles over the past year.
Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk stated this on the air of the Day.LIVE program, ZN.UA reports. According to him, the missiles have shown high efficiency in combat conditions.
“The other side is really afraid of our Neptune, and for good reason. We don’t usually disclose the use of our missiles, but sometimes, not often, when the media coverage of this case is quite serious, we can say that yes, it is us,” Pletenchuk emphasized.
Pletenchuk emphasized that the Navy is the only operator of Neptune missiles in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of September 29, missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Navy, struck the Karachevsk Electrodetal plant in the Bryansk region of Russia.
According to the official data of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the attack on the Electrodetal plant was carried out by four missiles from a distance of 240 km.
Navy Commander Oleksiy Neizhpapa confirmed that missile weapons, namely R-360 Neptune, were used against the facility.
The Electrodetal plant is part of the Radioelectronic Technologies concern of the Rostec state corporation.
The company specializes in the production of electronic warfare (EW) equipment, measuring instruments, electronic connectors, and cable products.
It is at this plant that cylindrical and rectangular connectors of the SNC, SNP, and SP types are manufactured, which are used in the interconnect systems of most cruise and ballistic missiles in Russia.
We also have an article about the use of Neptune cruise missiles in 2024.
These cruise missiles hit ammunition depots both in the temporarily occupied territory and in Russia. Additionally, the oil depots of the aggressor country were also targeted.
