The Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Konstantin Olshansky landing ship with Neptune anti-ship missiles in temporarily occupied Crimea.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, the Ukrainian Navy spokesman, reported on this on Tuesday, March 26, on the FREEDOM TV channel.

The Russians seized Project 775 Konstantin Olshansky landing ship during the occupation of Crimea in 2014.

“For 9 years, the ship was in Sevastopol Bay, dismantled for spare parts and plundered. And in the 10th year of the war, the Russians realized that they were running out of the Project 775 landing ships and decided to restore it. Over the year, they carried out restoration work… This ship was, unfortunately, to be used against Ukraine,” Pletenchuk emphasized.

Therefore, according to him, it was decided to hit this landing ship with Ukrainian-made Neptune anti-ship missiles.

The damage to the ship is currently being clarified. However, according to the Ukrainian Navy spokesperson, the Konstantin Olshansky landing ship is currently in a non-combatant state.

As previously reported, on the evening of March 23, the Ukrainian Air Force, in cooperation with the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy, launched a powerful attack on Russian military facilities in Crimea.

Due to a prolonged night attack using Storm Shadow/SCALP EG cruise missiles, many ground and naval targets were hit. In particular, the Yamal and Azov landing ships were hit.

However, now, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, it was reported that Ukrainian-made Neptune anti-ship missiles damaged the Konstantin Olshansky landing ship.

Analysts of the KiberBoroshno Telegram channel used satellite images to determine the location of the ship at the time of the attack on Sevastopol.

The images show that at least one missile hit the pier where the landing ship was moored. The black spot from the explosion partially extends to the ship’s side. However, it is difficult to determine the level of damage to the landing ship from this image.
