It has been reported that the Ukrainian Navy carried out a strike on a Russian air defense repair facility in Sevastopol.
Footage of the operation was released by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.
Domestic FP-2 Middle Strike-class kamikaze drones were used to strike the target, judging by the interface shown in the published footage.
The Navy conducted the operation in close coordination with specialists from the Special Operations Forces and the Unmanned Systems Forces.
The main target of the attack was the innovation center of the Granit production and technical enterprise, which is part of the Russian state-owned Almaz-Antey concern.
Russian air defense systems are repaired and maintained there, particularly those covering the temporarily occupied Crimea.
According to the Ukrainian Navy, this facility performs routine and major repairs on S-400 and S-300PM2 air defense systems, as well as 92N6E and 96L6E radar stations. In addition, the facility maintains and repairs the Buk-M2/M3 and Tor-M2 medium- and short-range air defense systems.
According to eyewitnesses among local residents, at least five drones struck the building during the night.
Judging by images published online, part of the building housing the Russian air defense service center has been severely damaged. The facility has been operating on the occupied peninsula since 2016.
In addition to the industrial facility, Ukrainian defenders struck Russian military deployment sites in the area of Striletska bay on the night of March 19.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are systematically destroying Russian air defense systems and radars in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Now, the facility responsible for repairing them following such attacks has come under fire.
