The Ukrainian Navy launched a missile strike on an enemy artillery ammunition cache near occupied Mariupol.

The news was released by the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Navy Command.

On the night of September 13, 2024, a missile unit of the Ukrainian Navy struck at the Russian army’s depots in the village of Hlyboke, Mariupol district, Donetsk region.

“According to confirmed reports, the strike destroyed both the infrastructure of the storage facilities and tons of ammunition that the invaders were stockpiling for use on the territory of Ukraine,” the command stated.

Locals in the adjacent villages reported a loud explosion, an intense fire, and the following detonations. They later posted photos of the aftermath.

The published photos feature the remains of Russian shells for cannon artillery, in particular, 122-mm and 152-mm ammunition.

The location of the Russian military facility in the village of Hlyboke can be called a deep rear, as it is 100 kilometers from the line of contact.

Given the range and the involvement of a naval unit, it can be assumed that Neptune cruise missiles were used in the attack.

In this case, the missile had to fly over a significant area of the occupied territories, which are covered by air defense systems.

Last month, on August 24, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an invader’s ammunition depot in Russian Voronezh Oblast.

At that time, local residents reported flying objects at low altitude and a sound similar to the operation of a cruise missile jet engine.

Analysts suggested that the Russian military targets had been attacked with a Ukrainian Neptune cruise missile.
