Polish soldiers will draw on Ukraine’s experience in combating Russian drones at a NATO training center located in Poland.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated this in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.

According to him, such cooperation will help the Polish army better prepare for potential future attacks by Russia.

“The Ukrainians have better equipment for dealing with Russian drones, and they have much deeper and more up-to-date experience of resisting the Russian army,” Sikorski emphasized.

According to him, these are the Ukrainians who will be training Polish how to stand up to Russia, not the other way around. In his view, both Western governments and societies need to recognize this as soon as possible.

The training of Polish units in Ukrainian drone countermeasure techniques will take place in Poland. Sikorski notes that this is safer than conducting the training directly in Ukraine.

The Foreign Minister also stated that Poland’s response to a Russian attack would have been ‘much harsher’ if any civilians had been injured or killed on Polish territory during the airstrike on September 10th. However, he declined to specify what such a response might entail in the future.

“With an aggressor and a liar like Putin, only the toughest counter-pressures work,” Sikorski emphasized.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that a delegation of Polish military personnel would visit Ukraine to exchange experience in the field of defense.

Sybiha highlighted that Ukraine possessed unique expertise in countering modern threats – knowledge that could be valuable to its partners.

This kind of training in Poland was announced after a mass incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace on September 10th, which prompted the deployment of NATO fighter jets to intercept them.

Since then, European countries have shown growing interest in Ukrainian interceptor drones.
