The Ukrainian military detailed how they defeated a Russian assault force with armored vehicles near the Vodyane settlement.
On January 15, the Russian military command commanded to attack the Ukrainian military near Vodiane from the occupied village of Pisky.
At least a dozen infantry fighting vehicles, tanks and even an MTU-72 armored bridgelayer, which was supposed to lead the crossing, were involved in the attack.
The Ukrainian 36th Marine Brigade said that this offensive was completely defeated.
The military showcased a new video featuring the destruction of the Russian military and noted that it was the joint work of the soldiers of their brigade and the 503rd Separate Marine Battalion.
New footage of the Russian defeat near Vodiane shows that the enemy’s losses in this battle were even greater than previously thought.
The Ukrainian army neutralized the Russian MTU armored bridgelayer, 3 BMP-2 and at least 3 units of other armored vehicles.
Previously, seven BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles were damaged at once only in one battle area, but some of them were probably evacuated later.
Mortars, artillery, Ukrainian anti-tank systems, drones with explosives and MT-12 anti-tank guns operated against the Russians.
At least one tank was hit with the Stugna-P anti-tank missile system.
“There is also information that the Russians were still advancing nearby and that a total of 16 armored vehicles were lost. Unfortunately, some of them have already been pulled out,” the soldier said.
According to official data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions and are suffering significant losses in manpower.
