The Security Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the headquarters of the Russians in temporarily occupied Melitopol.

This was reported by the LIGA news website, which cited its own sources in the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the media, intelligence found the invasion soldiers’ headquarters inside a nearby engine company.

Information about the detected target was transferred to the Armed Forces. Lately, both military forces and the security service jointly conducted a strike on the object.

As a result of the strike, the Commander and Chief of Staff of the Russian 58th Army was wounded.

According to open sources, Lieutenant General Denis Lyamin has been Commander of the 58th Combined Arms Army since July 2023.

Recall that his predecessor, Major General Ivan Popov, was fired from his post after his report criticizing the actions of the top military leadership and complaining of mass losses.

According to Liga’s sources, in addition to high-ranking commanders, several dozen more Russian officers were injured, approximately ten died.

The message about the defeat of the headquarters of the occupation forces in Melitopol was published on September 19. The strike was said to have taken place around 7 a.m.

The means of defeating the headquarters is not known for certain, but eyewitnesses reported the operation of Russian air defense systems.

Given a distance of more than 75 kilometers from the front line, Franco-British Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles could be used.

Recall that on September 20, with the help of these missiles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the object of the 744th Communications Center of the Black Sea Fleet Command in Crimea.
