The Defense Forces of Ukraine are actively destroying the enemy’s positions in the southern direction and moving forward.
The Operational Command “South” reported that Ukrainian military managed to destroy the S-300 SAM battery in the area of Zelenotropynske.
“During the fire missions, the S-300 SAM battery was destroyed in the area of Zelenotropinske. Also, several objects of transport infrastructure in the temporarily occupied territory were taken under fire, which significantly limits the maneuverability and logistics of the enemy troops,” the report said.
The videos of affected SAMs were later published on social media.
The video captures two burning S-300 TELs and a support vehicle.
The published report says that the burning S-300 near the Zhuravel Market. This is right next to Zelenotropynske.
In addition, the OC “South” noted that the invaders deliver ammunition to the territory of Ukraine under the guise of civilian cargo.
More than 20 KamAZ trucks painted white were involved in this delivery.
“Real delivered cargo – ammunition of artillery and MLRS. New ammunition depots are being arranged in civilian buildings, in institutions of culture and education,” the OC “South” said in a statement.
Recall that the invaders began to use S-300 missiles for shelling ground targets.
So, according to OC “South,” the enemy struck with seven S-300 SAM`s modified missiles at Mykolaiv. Aftermath of the shelling, industrial and port infrastructure facilities were hitted.
S-300 – medium-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) (NATO reporting name SA-10 Grumble). It was adopted by the USSR in 1979. Designed to protect large industrial and administrative facilities, military bases and control posts from attacks by enemy`s aerospace attack.
The system is capable of destroying missile targets. SAM became the first anti-aircraft missile system that can track up to 6 targets and release up to 12 missiles on them.
