The Defense Forces of Ukraine liberated the settlement of Neskuchne in the Donetsk region.
Soldiers of the 7th Separate Battalion “AREY” of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army reported the liberation.
This battalion is part of the 129th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Under the command of Major Oleksandr ‘MACEDONETS’ Hryshchuk, Ukrainian soldiers liberated the village of Neskuchne,” the statement says.
Other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine also took part in the liberation of the settlement.
So far, nothing has been reported about Russian prisoners of war who could have been captured in the village.
The Ukrainian General Staff has not yet announced anything about the liberation of this settlement.
This settlement is part of the Velyka Novosilka settlement community in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. Its area is 1,213 square kilometers.
A few days ago, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while commenting on the situation in the Zaporizhzhya region, reported that “battles of local importance” were ongoing in the Velyka Novosilka area and that the Russian troops had lost positions there.
On June 11, it also became known that the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Blahodatne, which is also located near Neskuchne settlement in the Donetsk region.
The day before, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that “counteroffensive and defensive actions” are being conducted at the frontlines.
The Ministry of Defense previously stated that it would not publicly announce the start of the counteroffensive.
