Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter.
Roman Balan (Sinitsyn), who works at the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation, reported this on Tuesday morning.
He also published a photo featuring the destroyed enemy aircraft on social media.
According to the volunteer, the soldiers of the 38th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shot down the enemy Ka-52 helicopter.
The location of the hit to the Russian helicopter has not yet been disclosed.
However, Balan published a photo featuring a column of smoke rising above the crash site of the Russian Ka-52.
According to him, the crew of the enemy helicopter was killed.
It is currently unknown what caused the enemy air target to be shot down in the Ukrainian sky.
The Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter is the further development of the Ka-50 helicopter. The main advantage of the Ka-52 is the ability to perform military functions around the clock, regardless of weather conditions.
The helicopter is able to detect enemy equipment from a considerable distance due to the optoelectronic reconnaissance station installed in the fore part of the hull. The flight characteristics of the Ka-52 allow it to develop a speed of up to 300 km/h. The crew of the attack helicopter consists of two people.
The armament of the Ka-52 consists of a 30mm 2A42 autocannon and six hard points that can accommodate 23mm guns, or launchers with S-8 and S-13 unguided rockets, as well as 9M120-1 Ataka and 9A4172K Vikhr-1 anti-tank guided missiles.
In June, over the day of the confrontation with the Wagner PMC mercenaries, the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation lost six helicopters and one plane. In particular, a Ka-52 attack helicopter was shot down in the Voronezh region, and the crew died.
