Ukrainian marines destroyed a Russian 2S7 Pion 203mm self-propelled artillery system in the Kherson region.

A video of the destruction of the Russian system was posted on the Ukrainian Navy’s official Telegram page.

The enemy artillery system was destroyed at a combat position from which it was firing at Ukrainian defenders.

Soldiers of the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion detected the Russian artillery, identified it, and transmitted the coordinates for its destruction.

The strike was adjusted using a drone and a thermal imaging sensor, allowing for fairly accurate site monitoring.

The Russian artillery installation was destroyed near the village of Radensk, Kherson region, at coordinates 46.56673, 32.96313.

At the end of September 2024, soldiers of the 140th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion destroyed a Grad multiple rocket launcher system in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region.

The destruction of the Russian multiple-launch rocket system took place near the village of Chelburda, Kherson region, at coordinates 46.613080, 32.968309.

Militarnyi previously reported that the artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian 2S7 Pion 203mm artillery system, its personnel, and ammunition using cluster munitions.

Specialists of the “Heavenly Punishment” Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 54th Mechanized Brigade, named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, guided the artillery at the target.

The system was “caught” when a truck with ammunition arrived, which detonated after being hit by fire.

Given the use of cluster munitions and the detonation of the ammunition, the 2S7 could have been completely destroyed or lost its combat capability.
