Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has obtained classified information on the Russian nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine K-555 Knyaz Pozharskiy, part of the 955A Borey-A class.
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense reported the breach on its official website.
According to the DIU, Ukrainian intelligence acquired a significant volume of data, including personal information about the submarine’s crew, such as names, ranks, qualifications, physical training levels, and combat readiness instructions.
The agency also published documentation on the submarine’s design, including the combat layout, survivability systems, and the crew’s organizational structure.
Additional materials include engineering records, such as a report on the inspection of a deformed radio buoy, which lists the commission members and the enterprises involved in the examination.
The Knyaz Pozharskiy was officially commissioned into the Russian Navy on July 24, 2025, joining the 31st Submarine Division of the Northern Fleet.
It is based in Gadzhievo, Murmansk region, alongside other nuclear-powered submarines.
The vessel is the fourth serial and fifth overall submarine built under the modernized 955A Borey-A project. It was laid down in December 2016, rolled out in February 2024, and subsequently underwent a lengthy testing period at sea, which it successfully completed.
Borey-A submarines feature reduced vibrations and acoustic signatures compared to earlier designs due to changes in the hull, bow, and sail. Upgrades were also made to the ballistic missile launch systems.
Like its sister ships in the 955/955A projects, Knyaz Pozharskiy is armed with 16 solid-fuel Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles and 533 mm torpedo tubes.
