The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the liberation of the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv Region from Russian occupation.

The SSU showed photos of the Special Group “Alpha” operators in Kupiansk and stated that the city was and would always be Ukrainian.

“We will free our land to the last centimeter,” the SSU said.

According to British intelligence, the Armed Forces of Ukraine took the Russian army in the Kharkiv Region by surprise. The invaders did not expect an offensive.

It was also reported that Ukrainian fighters from the 1st Battalion of the 92nd Brigade raised the national flag over the Kupiansk city council.

Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are continuing counter-offensive actions to cut off the Izium group of Russians troops from their strategic logistics centers.

If the Armed Forces of Ukraine manages to cut off the logistics of the Russians troops, it will be possible to collapse most of the enemy’s positions in northeastern Ukraine.

The invaders, meanwhile, are transferring reinforcements to the Kharkiv Region in an attempt to stop the sudden Ukrainian offensive.

The Russian Ministry of Defense and Kremlin propaganda resources published footage of military convoys allegedly heading to the Izium and Kupiansk regions.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi commented on the counteroffensive.

“It is very difficult for us, but we are moving forward. Grateful to fellow citizens who are helping and waiting for us,” the General said.

It should be recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive in the Kharkiv direction on September 6.
