During the night before Wednesday, December 3, drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck oil depots in Russia’s Voronezh and Tambov regions.
Astra and authorities in those regions reported on this.
The governor of the Voronezh region stated that fuel storage tanks were damaged in the drone attack.
“In one of the districts, several fuel tanks were slightly damaged after a downed UAV fell. No fire broke out,” Aleksandr Gusev claimed.
According to him, during the night, the air-defense forces of the aggressor country allegedly detected and destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles over Voronezh and in two districts of the region. The Russian official did not disclose which specific oil depot was attacked.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian strike drones also hit an oil depot in the Tambov region, after which a fire broke out there.
Local governor Evgeny Pervyshov, like his aforementioned colleague, claimed that the fire allegedly resulted “from falling drone debris.”
“Fire crews and law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene. All necessary forces and resources have been deployed,” the statement reads.
The Supernova+ Telegram channel specifies that the incident concerns the Nikiforovka oil depot of JSC Tambovnefteprodukt in the village of Dmytriyivka. Videos of the large fire, recorded by local residents, are being shared on social media.
