Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed key elements of the Neftegorsk Gas Processing Plant, without which the facility cannot operate.
Exilenova+ project published the pictures with support from CyberBoroshno.
The detailed imagery shows that two vertical stabilization columns — critical units for raw material processing — were struck at the site.
These columns remove light fractions from oil and gas condensate and bring the product to specifications required for transportation.
Damage to such columns effectively disrupts the technological cycle, leading to restricted operations or a complete halt to production.
As of February 22, the fire had been contained, though firefighting efforts were ongoing. Smoke in several areas, the presence of firefighting equipment, and traces of water spraying indicate continued response operations.
Technical columns and pipelines used to divert excess gases and light fractions to flare systems for emergency burning were also likely damaged.
Without this critical equipment, the plant cannot resume normal operations. Given international sanctions and limited access to certain technologies, repairs may be prolonged and costly.
On the night of February 21, drones struck the facility. Following the explosions, photos and videos circulated online showing a large fire at the Neftegorsk GPP.
The plant processes associated petroleum gas from fields in the Volga region, primarily from assets operated by Samaraneftegaz.
The facility has a design capacity of 0.7-0.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
Together with the Otradnensky GPP, it forms Rosneft’s Samara gas processing facility, with a combined capacity of approximately 1.5-1.9 billion cubic meters per year.
