The Ukrainian design bureau LOCKER has developed mobile workshops based on the American HMMWV.
According to LOCKER representatives, these workshops have been handed over to the Kraken Regiment Special Forces unit.
These mobile workshops enable the Ukrainian Defense Forces to repair armored vehicles directly in the field.
This eliminates the need to transport the equipment to repair bases.
Previously, LOCKER’s designers worked on converting civilian Mitsubishi L200 off-road vehicles, but their limited size could not accommodate all the necessary equipment.
In contrast, the HMMWV’s larger dimensions allowed for the installation of more advanced and powerful equipment in the workshop.
The workshop is designed with compartments that contain special equipment needed for the repair and maintenance of vehicles.
The HMMWV is also outfitted with lifting equipment, power supplies, tire fitting and welding equipment, professional hand tools, lighting, starting and charging devices, etc.
The rear of the vehicle features a retractable locksmith’s workbench, offering a convenient solution for short-term repairs.
“This is a truly unique development by domestic designers. Such a small car contains almost everything needed for quick and reliable repair of equipment,” says LOCKER.
It should be reminded that mobile workshops were also delivered to the Ukrainian military by the Come Back Alive Foundation.
At the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian philanthropists developed a new mobile service station and tire fittings for the military.
