Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has codified the universal control system for Droid Box ground robotic systems developed by Ukrainian company DevDroid. The system is already integrated into eight different UGV platforms.

DevDroid shared this with Militarnyi.

The company reported that the system has proven effective in combat and is deployed on more than 1,000 ground robotic systems of various types used by frontline units.

“In essence, Droid Box is a standalone product that we can supply to other UGV manufacturers to ensure a unified communications ecosystem,” DevDroid CEO Yuriy Poritsky told Militarnyi.

Droid Box supports six independent communication channels to ensure stable operation, including digital links, LTE, and Starlink, along with backup channels.

The system also monitors anomalies in positioning systems and uses countermeasures to maintain communications and navigation under electronic warfare conditions and GNSS spoofing.

Droid Box supports integration with all configurations of the Wolly combat module, including versions armed with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun and an Mk-19 grenade launcher. The system can also use AI-based features for autonomous target detection, acquisition, and tracking.

Droid Box provides units with situational awareness through a local field server that processes data on-site and transmits it via secure channels.

The system also offers onboard diagnostics, providing operators with real-time information on system status and potential faults, enabling faster deployment and reuse.

Droid Box is already integrated into:

  • Droid TW-7.62 — reconnaissance and strike UGV with a KT-7.62 machine gun (PKT)
  • Droid TW-12.7 — reconnaissance and strike UGV with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun
  • Droid NW 40 — reconnaissance and strike UGV with an Mk-19 grenade launcher
  • Numo — universal platform by NUMO Robotics
  • Zmiy Droid 12.7 — maneuverable wheeled strike platform with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun, developed with Rovertech
  • Tanchik Droid 12.7 — light tracked fire support UGV with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun, developed with Overland Defense
  • Rawlyk Droid 12.7 — six-wheeled multipurpose mobile platform with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun, developed with Ukrainian Unmanned Technologies
  • Bison Droid 12.7 — tracked logistics platform with a Browning 12.7 mm machine gun, developed with UAV Robotics

The company provides maintenance for all platforms equipped with Droid Box, regardless of manufacturer, acting as a single point of contact for military users.

The service covers the full support cycle, including diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, analytics, and operator training. The company also trains personnel, maintains equipment, and resolves technical issues.
