The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the Quasar 3M electronic warfare system meets all requirements for installation on armored vehicles.

TAF Industries told Militarnyi that they had been conducting tests on various types of armored vehicles for about a year.

The Quasar 3M electronic warfare system has been tested on passenger cars, light and medium armored vehicles.

Manufacturers rarely conduct such tests on the Ukrainian market. Therefore, this makes it impossible to officially install electronic warfare systems on cars and armored personnel carriers.

“In general, there are many specifics in this area. For example, products must be tested for vibration resistance and the possibility of using electronic warfare systems on armored vehicles with a rotating turret. With the Quasar 3M electronic warfare system, antennas can be connected using our 5 m cables, meaning that the technical characteristics and completeness of the product must also meet the needs of armour manufacturers,” explains Maxim Teftul, Product Owner of Electronic Warfare at TAF Industries.

The Quasar 3M electronic warfare system is distinguished by its resistance to extreme conditions, which is also required by the specific nature of the device’s operation on armored vehicles.

The system has a durable, shock-resistant aluminum casing, protection against unthreaded antennas, overheating, and feeder line breakage, as well as a sealed casing and coolers.

All systems of this modification also have certified IP68 protection, meaning they are resistant to dust and water.

The Quasar 3M electronic warfare system has been codified and has been operating in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2023.

Until recently, it was used mainly to protect positions and on light vehicles.

Over the years, the team has adapted the system to the needs and requests of the military: adding new frequencies, increasing the power of the modules, and expanding the number of bands in the system.

Since February 2025, TAF Industries has focused on testing the system on armored vehicles.

In the first stage, they used the Ukrainian Gyurza armored vehicle and the American MaxxPro.

Later, thanks to the Ukrainian Navy, which provided its own Novator SBA, the Quasar 3M electronic warfare system was also tested on this armored vehicle.

The company told Militarnyi that in order to test the system on heavy armored vehicles, they need to have permanent access to them.

“For further testing of our codified products, we need permanent access to various types of armor that are widely used by the defense forces. This will allow us to fully integrate our products. And also, of course, to test new developments. It is important to note that electronic warfare works completely differently on armored vehicles due to their metal surfaces,” the company said.

Currently, more than 500 codified Quasar systems are operating on the front lines.
