The Ukrainian Defense Forces have raised a blue and yellow flag at a grain elevator in the center of New York, Donetsk region.

Analysts from the DeepState project released a video of the flag and said that soldiers of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade raised it.

DeepState noted that the control of the Russian invaders in the center is also relative.

“All previous statements by the Katsaps (Russians – ed.) about the full occupation can be multiplied by zero for now,” DeepState said.

The battle for New York in the Donetsk region continues. Although the situation there has improved, it is still difficult.

Azov Brigade soldiers have been deployed to this area to reinforce the servicemen holding the line in New York.

“The enemy was driven back from the Phenol Plant. And this is a rather important place in the area for consolidating and holding positions. The Muscovites were also driven back from the northern outskirts of New York town itself. Now the work to stabilize the situation in the village continues. Very heavy fighting is going on,” the DeepState analyst emphasized.

The Ukrainian military cut off the Russians’ access routes to Nelipivka.

Before that, in Nelipivka, the Russians were entering the rear and trying to accumulate forces. But despite these improvements, the battle for New York continues, and the situation is complicated.

“The Muscovites (Russians – ed.) also have a lot of resources here. They are trying to completely occupy New York. It is very important to say that the Russians have fully occupied it. Although they claimed it at least three times. The Russians have been hanging their flags there, but the fighting for this settlement continues. The Ukrainian military is trying to do everything possible to prevent the enemy from gaining a foothold there, from seizing the settlement and making any advances,” the DeepState analyst said.

On September 6, it was reported that the Azov Brigade had regained control of a part of the village of New York in the Donetsk region and unblocked the Ukrainian military.

The soldiers managed to stabilize the situation, but it remains tense. Russians conduct up to 15 assaults per day in the brigade’s area of responsibility.
