The Ukrainian Defense Forces have mastered and are increasing the pace of repairs of the American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

The Logistics Forces Command reported on this.

The increase in the intensity of battles and the number of M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles requires the Logistics Forces to accelerate the repair process of these vehicles, which play one of the most crucial roles on the battlefield.

Thus, the Logistics Forces have mastered the repair of engines, components and units, electrical special equipment, and weapons.

According to Yurii, the commander of the separate repair group for M2 Bradley IFVs, since the beginning of 2025 until the end of February, more than 20 units of these combat vehicles have been restored.

Compared with previous years:

In 2024, the restoration pace was 60 vehicles in 12 months, while in 2023, when these combat vehicles were just being introduced, 12 vehicles were restored in a year.

Depending on the damage, which is classified into four categories, Ukrainian repair specialists can repair vehicles from the first three categories, while combat vehicles classified under the fourth category are sent to the manufacturer’s plant or European countries with the necessary facilities and capabilities for repair.

“The delivery process is swift: from the receipt request — literally just a few days. In extreme cases, we use ‘donors,’ meaning those vehicles that cannot be restored due to significant damage but can still provide spare parts. This allows us to return vehicles to the front as quickly as possible — they are always needed there,” Yurii shared.

Additionally, Yurii spoke positively about the American IFV, highlighting its good armor, reliability, and the availability of spare parts, which are currently in ample supply.

Today, there are about 300 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, making it the most numerous Western IFV in the Ukrainian forces and one of the most widely used in the military overall.

Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian enterprises mastered the production of spare parts for American M113 armored personnel carriers.

In addition, the units of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carry out major repairs of the M113 not only at factories but also at military logistics bases, where, after the appropriate work is completed, they conduct test runs to identify any issues in a timely manner.
