The Latvian company Global Wolf Motors has already supplied the Ukrainian army with about 1000 electric scooters, which are used at the frontline.
This was reported by Global Wolf Motors CEO Klāvs Ašmanis to NextGenDefense.
According to Ašmanis, demand in Ukraine has grown from the initial 300 scooters ordered by border control units to about 1,000 units after the Special Forces showed interest.
The CEO also said that Global Wolf Motors had started developing non-standard vehicles for the frontline back in 2022.
“Initially, we were developing an electric scooter for border control and mobility at military bases,” Ašmanis said.
However, Ukrainian soldiers quickly adapted the scooters for combat use, including reconnaissance operations deep in Russian-occupied territory.
In particular, sniper units have been successfully using scooters to get into the right area, complete a task and move away just as quickly.
Ašmanis also described their role in the delivery of ammunition and food, medical evacuation of the lightly wounded and transportation of equipment.
“If you slowly press the gas pedal, you can get out of the mud with a wounded soldier on board,” he added.
Last year, the Ukrainian Defense Forces requested additional Mosphera military electric scooters from the Latvian company.

Another advantage of such vehicles on the front line is the quiet operation of the electric scooter, which makes it harder for enemy drones to detect than motorcycles or all-terrain vehicles.
The Defense Procurement Agency has also recently purchased 500 ATVs for the Ukrainian military.
