The Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian fire-control radar of the Buk air defense system.
Telegram channel PunishSword_UA made public the video of a Russian radar being damaged.
Ukrainian troops destroyed enemy vehicles in one of the frontline areas.
The Russian 9S36(M) fire-control radar was destroyed using a drone.
This mobile radar is part of Russia’s modern Buk-M2 and Buk-M3 air defense systems.
The footage of the released video shows that the vehicle catches fire after being hit, and the crew of Russian soldiers runs away.
The 9S36(M) fire-control radar provides target illumination and missile guidance by means of an antenna that can be extended to a height of up to 21 meters.
The radar should detect and hit targets flying at low and extremely low altitudes, in particular, cruise missiles.
The antenna is a phased array with electronic scanning. The radar can search for targets within a ±45° azimuth and 70° angle area at a range of up to 120 km.
Target tracking is performed in the ±60° azimuth sector and from -5 to +85° elevation angle, including targets flying at low and ultra-low altitudes. The radar is capable of simultaneously detecting up to 10 targets.
As previously reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have recently destroyed three Russian Buk launchers.
Enemy air defense systems in various parts of the front line were destroyed using FPV drones and HIMARS rocket systems.
