On the night of December 22, Ukrainian drones attacked the Taman maritime terminal in the settlement of Volna, in Russia’s Temryuk District of Krasnodar Krai.
Preliminary reports indicate that the strikes damaged a pipeline, triggering a fire, according to the local Operational Headquarters.
The initial fire at the terminal covered an area of about 100 square meters.
Two piers and two vessels were also damaged. Crew members were on board the ships at the time of the attack and were safely evacuated.
As a result of the damage to the piers, additional fires broke out, with affected areas ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 square meters.
The Taman Maritime Terminal is used as a major export hub on the Black Sea.
It handles the transshipment of oil, gas, ammonia, grain, coal, and other cargoes for international trade.
