Ukrainian defenders received 30 Shark-M UAVs from the KOLO Foundation

The Ukrainian Defense Forces received 30 domestic Shark-M drones from the KOLO charitable foundation.

The corresponding message and photo were published on the organization’s Facebook page.

KOLO noted that it was the largest and most expensive batch of equipment in the history of the foundation, which is already monitoring hundreds of kilometers of the frontline.

They also added that 30 Shark aircraft of the latest modification in the hands of Ukrainian aerial gunners would destroy millions of dollars worth of enemy equipment.

“Hovering invisibly in the sky for up to 7 hours and flying 120 kilometers beyond the demarcation line, Shark will detect even the best-hidden chemical warfare stores and munitions. And there will be friendly greetings from our artillery in no time,” the foundation said.

The cost of delivery of these unmanned aerial vehicles is UAH 72,000,000.

“The amount is impressive, but we expect a return on investment of 1,000% plus the moral satisfaction of making the orcs afraid to come out of hiding once again,” KOLO emphasized.

Shark-M

In January of this year, Ukrspecsystems, a Ukrainian manufacturer of Shark family reconnaissance unmanned aerial systems, presented a new version of Shark-M, which received a number of improvements to ensure an advantage on the battlefield. The updated drone has a record range of up to 420 km and an extended flight time of up to 7 hours.

The designers managed to achieve such parameters by integrating new batteries with 170% higher capacity.

Thanks to the modernization of the radio modem and antenna equipment, the maximum communication range has more than doubled to 180 km.

The longer range allowed the crews to operate beyond the reach of enemy weapons, and new hardware and software solutions ensure stable operation even in the face of GNSS disruptions, GPS spoofing, or attempts to intercept control signals.

The developers told Militarnyi that the new Shark-M is capable of performing the tasks of older systems, such as the PD-2.
