Ukrainian company SKIFTECH, known for its tactical simulators based on laser technology, has unveiled a new development — a drone simulator designed to train operators in aerial ammunition drops.
The system is based on the DJI Mavic platform.
This was reported by Militarnyi, which attended the DouDays conference.
The system is designed for simultaneous training of drone operators and infantry soldiers.
Using special sensors, operators practice the accurate dropping of simulated ammunition, while soldiers practice destroying drones with small arms.
To simulate the destruction of an infantryman, the system uses a grenade model with laser emitters used to mimic the fragmentation effect upon detonation.
If the drone is hit, the operator loses video connection with the camera and the ability to drop the payload, thus simulating the destruction of the aircraft.
In addition to developing technical skills, the simulator also has an important psychological effect — it demonstrates to military personnel that drones can be shot down, increasing their confidence in combat.
SKIFTECH has already received preliminary orders and plans to start mass production of the simulator within a few months.
The company plans to develop simulators based on FPV drones and anti-aircraft drones.
SKIFTECH became the first MilTech company from Ukraine to receive a contract from the US Army for the development of laser simulators.
Today, SKIFTECH products are already actively used for training by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard.
The company has developed software for analyzing the actions of military personnel during training. This tool allows for a detailed assessment of each soldier’s behavior, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and improving training methods.
