Ukrainian company Aquatechnik has developed a series of sea and river drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces that are capable of performing various functions.

The company told Militarnyi that engineers are currently working on four types of hulls: Viir, Harpun, Dzyga, and Khoryv 2.0.

Back in 2023, the company’s engineers assembled a slow-speed fiber optic drone with a combat unit weighing 20–25 kilograms on a 3D printer.

With the acquisition of new experience, the company began to develop its own electronics and new drones suitable for use both on rivers and at sea.

Fiber optic drones operate at distances of 15 to 50 kilometers.

For longer distances, another type of communication is used, which allows for distances of 80–100 kilometers.

“Our drones are very difficult to spot on the water, especially at night,” says a company representative.

Dzyga

The Dzyga drone, presented to Militarnyi at the company, is capable of carrying up to 70 kilograms of payload.

It moves on water at speeds of up to 40 km/h and has a range of up to 70 kilometers. The drone’s body is made of foam, and its power plant is an electric motor.

“Dzyga” can perform both strike and logistical tasks with the ability to return to base.

During the demonstration, the drone was controlled using a Starlink satellite terminal.

“In case of loss of communication, we are adding an autopilot function with the target coordinates programmed into it,” the developers note.

Khoryv 2.0

The company’s latest development is the Khoryv 2.0 drone with an enlarged body, which allows it to carry more payload.

It has several types of communication. Depending on orders, the company claims to be able to manufacture 30-40 drones per month.

They plan to codify the Khoryv 2.0 with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which will allow the army to officially order these drones.

The company plans to create surface drones capable of carrying bomber drones, combat turrets, and rocket launchers.

In particular, they plan to install a combat turret on the “Viy” drone. This drone is capable of escorting other drones to provide cover.
