Ukrainian border guards captured a Russian Т-16 drone in the Kharkiv region.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that the UAV was landed by the border guard of the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment “Steel Border.”

Soldiers of the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment used an anti-drone complex that successfully landed Т-16 UAV.

“The anti-drone team successfully landed one of the newest Russian developments in the series of drones, the Eleron T-16,” the border guards said.

The Russian Т-16 was the most recent development in the Enix series of drones.

The drone with a takeoff weight of about 20 kg is made in a canard wing configuration.

It has variable-sweep wings along the leading edge with tips directed down. An electric motor powered by batteries drives the propeller.

The vehicle is capable of carrying up to 6 kg of payload. These are not only reconnaissance and surveillance equipment, but also special containers that are placed on external loads under the wing consoles.

During tests in 2018, the drone reached a speed of 65 km/h at an altitude of 500 m and flew at a distance of 150 km.

Initially, the company prepared this drone to deliver goods through the area, which has no roads. Presumably, now UAVs have been adapted to intelligence operations.

Recall that the Russian manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems Enix has developed dozens of different drones for the military.

Among them are target drones, UAVs of various purposes and quadcopters.
