New Croatian RAK-SA-12 128mm multiple rocket launchers have been supplied to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The installations were demonstrated at an event on the occasion of Border Guards Day.
The Croatian RAK-SA-12 towed MRL was also inspected by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Croatian RAK-12 MRL was developed in the early 1990s and is a much lighter version of the Yugoslav M-63 Plamen MRL.
MRL is in service with the armies of Croatia, Azerbaijan, and its use was spotted in Syria.
The updated Madlerd RAK-SA-12 MRL is designed to fire in large areas at distances of 800 to 8500 meters.
It is used to defeat manpower and enemy equipment in open areas or in shelters.
Due to its light weight, relatively long range, and striking capacity, the RAK-SA-12 is suitable for action in different types of terrain and in any meteorological conditions.
The launcher can use the following types of 128mm rockets: М91, М91А1 and М91А2 equipped with fuses RUK М92 and RUTI М94.
The missile can be used in the temperature range of -30 to + 50 °C.
The MRL’s crew consists of five soldiers commanded by the group commander. The time required to convert the launcher from transport to firing configuration equals 1,30 min, and the time required to convert it back from firing to transport configuration is 1 minute.
MRL can be transported by road, rail, sea, or air. The empty launcher can be towed at speeds of up to 80 km/h on asphalt roads, up to 50 km/h on gravel, and up to 25 km/h off-road. The loaded launcher can be towed at speeds up to 60 km/h on asphalt roads, up to 40 km/h on gravel roads, and up to 15 km/h off-road.
