The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the firing position of a battery of Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzers.

The relevant video was released on the web.

Ukrainian Air Assault Forces took part in the operation to neutralize a unit of the Russian invasion forces.

The video suggests the Russians deployed their four artillery systems in a forest between fields.

MSTA-S self-propelled howitzers and support trucks tried to hide under trees near a field road.

According to the report, the Russian artillery was detected by a Leleka unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the Ukrainian paratroopers.

Most likely,this drone also adjusted artillery fire during the operation.

After firing, the Ukrainian gunners hit the perimeter where a battery of Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzers was deployed.

As a result of the strike, at least one vehicle caught fire. Presumably, other self-propelled howitzers and trucks were also damaged by large-caliber artillery ammunition.

According to the UAV camera video, this Russian equipment also has been hit earlier this month.

152-mm 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer is designed to defeat manpower on open and closed positions, as well as weapons and military equipment of the enemy. The undercarriage is unified in terms of its components and elements from the main T-72 and T-80 tanks.

The Msta-S ammunition set includes 50 shots with various shells. The howitzer has a high degree of mechanization of the mobile ammunition and gun loading, aiming and re-aiming processes. The maximum firing range of its high-explosive shells is 24 km.
