Gunners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have Iranian rounds for the D-30 122mm howitzers.

Photos of these rounds were found online and distributed by an OSINT researcher writing on Twitter under the nickname War Noir.

He drew attention to the fact that the marking on ammunition indicates it was manufactured in 2023.

It’s unclear how this ammunition manufactured in a country hostile to Ukraine fell into the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

However, this is not the first time that the Ukrainian military has demonstrated Iranian 122mm rounds at its disposal.

Several videos with Iranian-made OF-462 HE-Frag were published by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September 2022. Then the analysts of the OSINT project Ukrainian Weapon Treacker drew attention to them.

Photos with similar shots of 122mm howitzers were distributed by the Russians.

Iranian ammunition and weapons in the Armed Forces

In addition to 122mm howitzer rounds in the war against Russia, Ukraine also used other Iranian-made weapons and ammunition.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have Iranian HM-15 82mm and HM-16 120mm mortars, as well as corresponding Iranian production mortar rounds for them.

Ukrainian tankman also uses Iranian 125mm tank rounds.

The Ukrainian Defence Force’s rocket artillery used Iranian rockets for the BM-21 Grad MRL.

And Army aviation pilots used Fadak 2 rocket-propelled unguided rockets from Iran.
