The Defense Forces conducted a precision strike on the Russian command post in occupied city of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that the commanders of the 29th Combined Arms Army were stationed there.
“The invading Russian army’s command centers continue to be hit. There is information about explosions and smoke in the target area,” representatives of the General Staff stated.
A video shared on social media captured the explosion, showing a fiery, smoky “mushroom” quickly rising into the air, visually confirming the attack.
This is the third successful strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in recent days.
There have also been reports of a second hit on the oil depot in the town of Liski, located in the Voronezh oblast of Russia, as well as damage to the infrastructure of the Smolensk Aviation Plant, where combat aircraft are manufactured and modernized.
“Targeted and systematic combat work to enhance the effect of sanctions pressure on important targets of the Russian invaders will continue until the end of Russia’s armed aggression against our country,” representatives of the General Staff stated.
The General Staff added that information on casualties among the invaders is being clarified.
Volnovakha is a city in the south of the Donetsk region occupied by Russians in March 2022.
Currently, the front line is 44 kilometers away.
The 29th Combined Arms Army began participating in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Last June, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a missile attack on the command post of the Russian 6th Combined Arms Army. The command post was in charge of the units involved in the offensive against the city of Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region.
