The demining units, which are part of the Support Forces Command, received Hydrema 910 MCV mechanized demining vehicles.
Foreign partners have supplied Ukraine with these specialized vehicles.
The Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety of the Ministry of Defense published photos of these vehicles.
The images were taken at the end of December 2023, during a readiness check for the assignment of newly created demining units.
These Hydro 910 MCVs will be involved in the demining of de-occupied Ukrainian territories in the near future.
The 18-ton Hydrema 910 MCV mechanized demining machine is designed to effectively neutralize anti-tank and anti-personnel mines containing up to 10 kg of explosives.
The Mine Clearing Vehicle is equipped with a block of 72 chains with fuses attached to their ends and a deflector screen to protect against explosions and shrapnel.
These chains are attached to a rotating axis (rotor) and form the boom trawl system. The rotor is hydraulically driven, and the depth of the boom trawl is adjusted manually or automatically. The frame is made of steel with high tensile strength, which makes it resistant to blast and shrapnel.
The vehicle’s cab is armored to withstand the impact of debris. The spacious cabin has seats for both the operator and the instructor, along with a swivel seat, which provides the operator with the best working conditions.
The vehicle’s main functions are controlled with joysticks and buttons.
In June, Militarnyi reported that during the Ukrainian Recovery Conference 2023 in London, representatives of the Ukrainian Pozhmashina enterprise and the Danish company Hydrema agreed to manufacture Hydrema 910 mechanized demining vehicles.
The demining units of NATO countries use this equipment and have tested its effectiveness.
