The Armed Forces of Ukraine may soon receive DANA-M2 152mm wheeled self-propelled guns.
A video with a howitzer of this type was shared by one of the TicTok users. The video with the howitzer drew the attention of one of the NAFO community members, @praisethestep.
The Dana ACS is loaded on a trawl, and the unknown author claims off-screen that the howitzer will soon be sent to Ukraine.
“That’s how the guys take us home, to Ukraine,” the author of the video said.
DANA-M2 is an upgraded version of the Czechoslovak ShKH vz. 77 DANA manufactured by the Czech defense company ‘Excalibur Army’.
DANA-M2 received a new cabin and fire control system. The howitzer has a semi-automatic firing mode where the commander only enters target data.
The self-propelled guns are based on the Tatra 815 VP 31M 8×8 chassis.
The maximum range of its fire is 20-25.5 km and depends on the type of projectile.
Prior to the full-scale invasion, Ukraine was considering purchasing such howitzers. The manufacturer reported the production of 26 DANA-M2 self-propelled guns for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Since May 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been operating ShKH vz.77 DANA howitzers. The Defense Forces also received a 155-mm version of the weapon from Slovakia – Zuzana and Zuzana 2.
