In the Toretsk sector, the Defense Forces detected and neutralized a Russian armored group heading towards Toretsk.
The 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported that several units were engaged in combat operations.
Instead of small groups, the invaders started to send “shed tanks” filled with infantry.
The enemy convoy was spotted by aerial reconnaissance, and artillery and drones were deployed.
After that, the tanks were met by pilots from R.V. units, the 28th Brigade’s unmanned systems battalion, and Phoenix unmanned aerial combat systems company.
“We smashed the tank convoy and destroyed the troops – the knights repelled the enemy assault,” the brigade reported.
Despite all the “defense,” two invaders’ tanks were destroyed. Two more began to flee, leaving the attackers to fend for themselves.
The troops scattered in a panic. Some found themselves in an open field, some hid in the bushes, and some managed to hide in holes.
“But everyone ended up the same way. The drones and artillerymen flattened everyone to the ground,” the brigade said.
Russian troops have recently moved forces from the Pokrovske sector to Toretsk, and in recent days, the invaders have been storming the positions of the Defense Forces quite “densely.”
Yevhen Alkhimov, a spokesman for the 28th Brigade, said that assault groups were coming several times a day, and literally three attacks could be made on one position.
In February, the Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad rifle battalions of the National Police joined the defense of Toretsk as part of the Liut joint assault brigade.
