The Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed a Russian ammunition depot near the occupied town of Sorokyne in the Luhansk region.
This is reported by local Telegram channels.
Around 11:00 a.m., the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a Russian ammunition depot with long-range weapons near the town of Sorokyne.
There are also reports about the ammunition detonating at the site of the strike.
The town is located near the border with Russia and is about 123 kilometers from the front line, which prevents the depot from being hit by cannon artillery and multiple launch rocket systems.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred near the Yunost plant, and ambulances are on their way to the scene.
Thick column of black smoke is rising above the plant, and there is evidence of a fire.
In some areas of the city, windows were blown out by the explosion. The eyewitnesses also reported blocking of traffic on the highway from Sorokyne to Luhansk.
Some Russian media said that the explosion could have been caused by a drone or sabotage on the territory of the enterprise.
As Militarnyi previously reported, the SSU and Navy launched the joint air strike on the Saky military air base in Russian-occupied Crimea.
The source claims that at least 12 combat aircraft, including Su-24 frontline bombers and Su-30 fighter aircraft, were located at the base in Crimea. The Pantsir-S anti-aircraft systems were protecting the military facility.
Ukrainian security forces used drones that overloaded Russian air defenses for the strike and then launched Neptune cruise missiles.
