The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces received Ukrainian-made Kozak-7 armored vehicles that entered service.

Footage of the use of these vehicles by paratroopers was shown on the News LIVE YouTube channel.

The convoy of Ukrainian paratroopers also included a Cougar armored vehicle and a Stryker armored personnel carrier.

Kozak-7 armored vehicles were developed by Ukrainian “Praktika.” The armored vehicle is based on the Ford F-550 chassis with a wheel arrangement 4×4.

The vehicle is equipped with a Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 390 hp and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 150 km/h. It can carry up to nine soldiers. The ballistic protection level meets the PZSA-5 standard (similar to the NATO STANAG 4569 lvl 2 standard) and protects against 7.62x51mm bullets in all projections. Mine protection can withstand mines with a capacity of up to 6 kg of TNT.

In 2022, Kozak-7 presented the League of Defense Enterprises as a joint project of the private defense industry, where “Praktika” acted as the main performer.

Then the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhny, and the Chief of the General Staff, Serhii Shaptala, confirmed their interest in products of this class.

Initially, this armored vehicle was designed for a foreign customer on an individual technical assignment.

The manufacturer said that the vehicle is well suited for urban warfare.

The developers also offer the ability to create a line of special vehicles based on the Kozak-7:

• mobile command post;
• mobile control post;
• anti-tank;
• medevac, etc.

The lower cost of the presented sample compared to the Kozak-2M1 is a significant advantage.

The armored vehicle also has more simplified production technology. Before the full-scale war, it was reported that the capacity of the enterprise allowed the manufacture of vehicles of this class up to 150–200 units per year.
