The Ukrainian company Adaptis has gained expertise in repairing Starlink terminals, developed by Elon Musk’s company.
The National Association of the Defense Industry of Ukraine, to which Adaptis belongs, confirmed that the company ensures the stable operation of Starlink terminals, which are vital for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In modern warfare, communication is not just a means of communication, but a key element in the success of military operations.
Despite some Starlink Mini and Gen3 (Rev4) models being considered non-repairable, Adaptis specialists have successfully mastered their repair.
Adaptis engineers disassemble, repair, and reassemble the terminals without causing damage, preserving their original appearance and full functionality.
The focus includes testing and diagnostics of all Starlink generations, repairing mainboards, GPS modules, power systems, and antennas, restoring cables and power supplies, and conducting complex procedures like resoldering flash memory and processors.
Repairs are made possible due to a stockpile of spare parts and components.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have faced numerous challenges related to communication and internet access. Russian forces have actively jammed mobile signals and destroyed ground communication infrastructure.
This has hindered battlefield coordination, intelligence exchange, and the ability to receive external information.
In this challenging situation, the Starlink satellite communication system from SpaceX has become a lifeline for Ukraine’s military.
Thanks to Starlink, the Ukrainian military has been able to:
In February, Poland ordered 5,000 additional Starlink terminals for Ukraine. By the end of 2024, Poland had provided Ukraine with 24,400 Starlink terminals.
