The 3rd Assault Brigade received 100 electronic warfare systems, acquired by the Ukrainian company Metinvest.

Metinvest has purchased this EW equipment to bolster drone defense capabilities, according to the company’s press release.

As part of the Steel Front initiative to support the military, the company has donated a batch of hundreds of dome signal amplifiers and electronic warfare systems to the Brigade, essential for countering enemy drones.

According to the press-release, the total value of the transferred equipment amounted to more than UAH 11 million.

The so-called Dome EW, an omnidirectional radio emitter, creates interference in its vicinity, thus complicating or even preventing signal transimission between the enemy drone and its control station.

Such devices can be installed both on positions and on military vehicles to protect against FPV drones, which pose a serious threat on modern battlefields.

According to the company’s press service, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest has allocated more than UAH 2.5 billion to help the soldiers as part of the Steel Front initiative.

200 frontline vehicles and 330 mobile steel shelters to the military, and purchased 1,500 drones and 2,000 units of high-precision military optics.

The company also manufactures military equipment. In particular, in October 2022, the company announced the start of production of tank mine trawls for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the request of the military, the company copied the Soviet-era KMT-7 tank trawl and improved its design to ensure better reliability and stability of the trawl’s running gear.

The same month, Metinvest mastered the production of “Lancet Catchers” – metal structures to protect against Russian drones.

In addition, the company produces a series of detailed layouts of military equipment, including radars, air defense systems, and artillery. Their widespread use allows the limited resources of Russian artillery, aircraft, and drones to be diverted to destroying fake targets, increasing the chances of the survival of real Ukrainian equipment.
